About Us

The Tooele Kiwanis Club is an volunteer organization dedicated to helping children in the Tooele, Utah area. We are one of the clubs in Division 2 of the Utah - Idaho District of Kiwanis International.  The Utah - Idaho District is made up of 10 Divisions.  A different number of clubs are in each of the Divisions.

Through a various amount of fundraisers and service project we are helping to do our part to improve the lives and experiences of children from our Terrific Kids programs and Key Clubs.  Our diaper drives raise money for the Copperview Community Center.  We are always looking for new members who share our commitment to aiding children wherever they are.

About Utah-Idaho District
The Utah District was organized March 24, 1919, at Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City appointed Alexander Eberhardt to act as governor. The Executive Committee of the International Board added Idaho to the territory of the district on November 27, 1920. The Utah-Idaho District came into existence as of December 16 of the same year. By mutual agreement, ratified by the International Board, the panhandle of Idaho consisting of ten counties north of the Salmon River was added to the Pacific Northwest District in July of 1925. The Utah-Idaho District’s first convention was in Salt Lake City on December 16, 1920. At that session, Herbert Van Damn, Jr. was elected governor at a convention in his home city.   The first club in the district was Salt Lake City, completed October 10, 1918. The second club was Pocatello, Idaho, on August 5, 1920, and the third club was Boise, Idaho on August 10, 1920.
About Kiwanis

Kiwanis is a global organization of member-volunteers working to change the world, one child and one community at a time.

Kiwanis members dedicate more than 6 million volunteer hours and invest more than US$100 million annually in projects that strengthen communities and serve children. We help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged and care for the sick. We develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research and much more. We believe that helping a child helps the world.

Why?

Working together, Kiwanis members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream and succeed, great things happen!

Global Results

Since 1994, Kiwanis International’s partnership with UNICEF has raised more than US$80 million in the global fight to eliminate iodine deficiency disorders (IDD), the leading preventable cause of mental retardation.
